Resolved Question: Women and weight, social norms?

At 5'5 and 120 pounds I'm called fat. Sure, it hurts a lot to be healthy and held to these standards that women should weigh about 105 and even less the shorter they are. It's hard for average girls just like it is hard for bigger girls. I fall into the 19.5 percentile, the perfect weight according to doctors but it isn't the perfect weight as far as most girls ages 15-25 think. I had friends who would constantly hate themselves and take it out on me and call me fat- I ditched those friends but deep down inside I started to believe it, "I'm unattractive". It didn't matter if I had a pretty, natural face that doesn't need makeup- nope...I started believing the hype. Now, it's hard to even go out. I'm surrounded by girls that have stick bodies and emo haircuts. I wouldn't dare be caught shopping either, not that I really liked it in the first place. As an intelligent individual, you'd think I'd be better than that. But even men are buying into it. I'm quite nerdy, singing in jazz bands, I love retro-video games, original star trek, LANing PC games, hosting LANing parties, reading comic books- you name it. But the geeky guys, they'd rather have a girl on their arm that is a skeleton with no solid interests or skills that aren't shallow. Geeky guys say they like nerdcore girls but they go for skinny princess types, and why? They say we are fat. They think 120 is fat! Wow. It's kind of hard to love thy self with the whole world set with this unrealistic expectation. It's a social norm, after all. Being skinny automatically qualifies someone as attractive now. Now, before you call me a self-loathing loser, hear my plight. I just want to live in a world where it's okay to be any size!I'm not hating on skinny girls, I've met some really intelligent/nice ones- I'm just saying that I thought variety was a good thing. I went outside the other day and two girls that live in my apartment who don't know me said out loud, "I'd kill myself if I was as fat as her and wearing that dress". I'm a size 3! Why does the world have such a distorted view on weight? The social norms are "abnormal" to me. Don't blame it on the media, seriously, there must be something more deep than that. The media does not directly control people and their thoughts and actions, we're smarter than that! What is your take? However, it can be a challenge to know which collectibles are going to be good investments, so it's better to choose a genre of collectibles that you're interested and would like to have around. Captain Britain debuted exclusively in the UK, and later appeared in American comics. At Marvel Comics, the commonly-used milestone marking the end of the Bronze Age is Secret Wars although this could be extended to 1986 which saw the cancellation of Defenders, Power Man and Iron Fist (Marvel's longest running title launched in the seventies), the launch of the New Universe and X-Factor (extension of the X-Men franchise). Writer, director and actor Kevin Smith, whose love for comics has been reflected in much of his film work in the so-called "View Askewniverse", particularly the film Mallrats. Some fun(a) books will be in mint condition and others will look well thumbed through even though they are recently printed comical books. Visit your local comic shop. Comic Book Resources columnist Steven Grant considers him to be the first Silver Age superhero.
