Personally though, I believe some of the greatest worth in a comic book is what it means to you and the enjoyment you receive from owning these little pieces of art. Using comic books is one way they are promoting their movement. Some Marvel heroes looked like villains and monsters. Marvel and DC expanded popular properties, such as Punisher, Spider-Man, Batman, and Superman into networks of spin-off books in the mid-to-late 1980s. They don't have an emotional side attached with the comics and look to see how much money they can make from selling the comics. I have as yet to determine the actual worth of the collection, but it has got to be substantially more than what I paid for it.
